On December 3, 2013, Transparency International released 2013 Corruption Perceptions Index about the perceived levels of public sector corruption in 177 countries/territories around the world.
Denmark and New Zealand, scored 91, are ranked No. 1 in integrity. The bottom countries are Afghanistan, North Korea and Somania, which are all scored 8 and ranked at 175. China and Greece, scored 40, are ranked at 80. China was ranked at 80 as well in 2012.
In AMERICAS, 66% score is below 50; the top country is Canada and the bottom is Haiti. In ASIA PACIFIC, 64% score is below 50; the top country is New Zealand and the bottom is Afghanistan and Korea (North). In EASTERN EUROPE & CENTRAL ASIA, 95% score is below 50; the top country is Turkey and the bottom is Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In EU & WESTERN EUROPE, 23% score is below 50; the top country is Denmark, and the bottom is Greece. In MIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA, 84% score is below 50; the top country is United Arab Emirates and the bottom is Sudan. In SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA, 90% score is below 50; the top country is Botswana, and the bottom is Somalia.
